Introducing the Opportunity Landscape Dashboard

How well are learning opportunities distributed across Evanston? Where do we see strong coverage—and where are the gaps?

The Opportunity Landscape Dashboard is designed to help PTAs, youth-serving organizations, school administrators, and funders understand the patterns of out-of-school time opportunities in our city. Rather than helping families find individual programs (that’s what the Explore page is for), this dashboard helps communities see the big picture.

What this dashboard can help you do:

• View geographic patterns of where programs are offered—and where they're not.
• Analyze themes of programming (e.g., STEM, arts, sports) to identify areas of strength and opportunity.
• Inform planning and partnerships to expand access and align resources.
• Use data to advocate for equitable opportunity access across neighborhoods.

This dashboard reflects the program opportunities shared on the Digital Backpack. It’s part of a growing civic infrastructure that makes Evanston’s learning landscape visible—and helps all of us work smarter together to ensure that every child has access to enriching, out-of-school learning experiences.
